Standard 1836 dated short sword with 19" blade, housed in solid brass wood lined scabbard made for an etched blade artillery officers or ceremonial sword. Scabbard is in wonderful uncleaned "as found" condition which would be perfect for someone with an appropriate sword which seem to always be missing this rare scabbard. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copies of pages from the 1983 John Hamilton "Ames Sword Company" text which shows this same scabbard on the cover. CONDITION: sword is very good overall. Ames marking partially discernible as is "1836" & "UNITED / STATES". Brass hilt and scabbard have matching dark mustard patina, one sword ring is bent. Light denting and scratching on reverse of scabbard. (02-22840/JS). $700-900.
