SEMI AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 4440621. Bbl. 24". Springfield Armory 11-65 dated. Throat gauges less than 1.0. Muzzle gauges 1.0. Blade front sight with protective ears. T105E1 adjustable aperture rear sight. Rare early "Arrowhead" IHC Garand with Springfield Armory-made IHC receiver. Nicknamed "Arrowhead" by collectors due to layout of receiver markings. Right front receiver leg marked "RRAD 7-66" in electropencil denoting Red River Army depot rework in July, 1966. Operating rod marked "D-6535382 IHC". Other parts are mostly Springfield Armory mfg. Parkerized finish. Walnut stock with bottom-mounted sling swivels and canvas GI sling. Stock has boxed "P" firing proof on underside of wrist and no other visible markings. Front handguard is loose. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1942-dated AFH M1 bayonet with Danish "FKF" marked scabbard. CONDITION: arsenal-refinished stock set shows some scattered handling marks. Metal retains 93% of its arsenal-reworked, parkerized finish with scattered silvering on the exposed edges. Bright, near excellent bore. (24-5836/MJC). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
