Cal. 50 RF. S#. NSN. Bbl. 20 1/2" round. Semi circular front w/ single leaf rear sight. Case colored lever operated action has E. G. Lamson & Co. address on left side forward of saddle ring & bar. Band fastened forend & straight grip walnut stock w/ carbine buttplate. 7 rd. tubular mag located in forend. Button tipped iron wiping rod. The U.S. contracted for the Ball in 1864. Delivery came in May 1865, too late to be issued. UNATTACHED ACCORIES: photo copied info about firearms designer Albert Ball. CONDITION: Metal has over 70% brown & case colored finish. Left side of receiver & breech end of bbl. have an area of corrosion & finish loss. Original wood finish shows scattered marks. Bright near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: ex-collection of Paul Eseppi.
