BRIGADE CIVIL WAR LETTER & MUSTER ROLL.7 page manuscript copy, HDQ 69th NYSNGA, Suffolk, VA Jan. 27, 1863 to Adjutant General of New York from Col. Mathew Murphy and endorsed by General Michael Corcoran (Jan 29, 1863) concerning commissions of company & regimental officers.Nov. 19, 1862 muster roll, Co. E, 69th signed by NYSNGA Colonel Mathew Murphy (1839-1865) who was mortally wounded at Battle of Hatcher's Run. 63 men of Co. E each signed that they received pay for this quarter, many with "X" and witnessed. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: bio of Murphy and details of few men on muster roll. CONDITION: letter is very good overall, muster roll is separated at folds and has old archival cloth tape re-enforcement on edges which covers murphy's signature. PROVENANCE: Dr. Reggie Van Driest collection. (02-27147-14/JS). NON-GUN. $300-400.
