COMMEMORATIVE SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER, WITH CASE & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 710SC. Bbl. 7 1/2". 1 of only 5,000 Colonel Samuel Colt Sesquicentennial commemorative Single Action Army revolvers mfg. by Colt. The left side of the bbl. is marked "1814 - COL. SAML COLT SESQUICENTENNIAL MODEL - 1964", with Colt's single line address marked across the top, and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Cyl. is engraved "COL. SAML COLT" above "1814 - 1964" and features scroll engraving, a Paterson revolver, as well as the Colt onion dome. Frame, trigger, bbl., and ejector rod housing exhibit a blue finish, with the cyl., frame screws, hammer, trigger guard, rear grip strap, cyl. base pin, as well as the ejector rod exhibiting a nickel plated finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion smooth wood grips. Fixed blade front sight, with square frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory wood display case, featuring a plaque on the lid that reads "One of 5000/ COLONEL SAML COLT/ SESQUICENTENNIAL MODELS/ 1814 - 1964". Case contains a copy of the book "The Arms Collection of Colonel Colt", by R.L. Wilson, 12 dummy nickel plated "WRA" headstamped .45 Colt rnds., as well as a commemorative medallion. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes, save for on the left side of the trigger guard, which exhibits areas of flaking, as well as a few spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few minor marks from handling and storage, but are otherwise excellent. Case shows some superficial marks from handling and storage, with the book's left leather band having come off at the bottom. (25-1641/MLW). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
