SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH STOCK. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 21816. Bbl. 11 3/4". Model 1902 Luger Carbine mfg. by DWM for commercial sales. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit an original rust blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, ejector, and extractor exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips and checkered wood schnabel tip forend, which features a sling loop on the underside. Grip screws have been reblued at one time. Serrated ramped and dovetailed blade front sight (sight bead is absent), with adj. U-notch rear sight graduated "1", "2", and "3". Old Model breechblock, with Old Model dished toggle ears. Frame features a grip safety, with a polished area on the left side of the frame, that is visible when the safety lever is engaged. All serialized parts are matching in the appropriate commercial fashion and include the frame (on forend iron), takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, bbl., rear sight slide, bbl. extension, breechblock, toggles, grips, as well as the forend. MAGS: 1 plated 8-rd. mag., with wood bottom marked with a diminutive flaming ordnance bomb proof. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching (possibly renumbered) wood shoulder stock, with grooved horn buttplate. Stock appears to have been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time, with the lever having been reheated. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory rust blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina (primarily on the bbl. and front grip strap), with some scattered spots of light of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Bbl. exhibits scattered spots of light pitting overall. Grip straps exhibit some spots of light to mild pitting, with some small spots of dark pitting present on the frame beneath the grip panels, and with the rear of the grip safety exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting. Strawed parts are very good overall, as reheated. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots/areas of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing some smoothing, as well as some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage. Forend is very good, showing some smoothing, as well as some superficial marks and minor impressions, with the interior exhibiting a crack between the frame iron slot and plunger slots. Stock shows scattered superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Horn buttplate exhibits scattered chipping primarily on and around the grooves, but is otherwise good overall. Wood bottom on mag. exhibits a small crack towards the rear. (25-1421/MLW).
