MATCHLOCK MUSKET. Cal. 45. NSN. 59" overall. This long graceful musket was made in late 18th century in Coorg, southwest India. The unique tapered round barrel has top central spine flaring at muzzle. There are 2 gold inset panels that have silver bands cut out to show them. Musket is almost totally covered in silver insets, plaques, and bands, silver tipped wood ramrod. CONDITION: very good overall, sound & well fit, mechanics fine, good smooth bore, several pins in silver insets are rising. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dr. Curtis S. Morse. (01-26298/JS).
