NATIONALE HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# T199278. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL-BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the forward trigger guard web is marked "Akah" within an oval (Albert Kind, German importer of FN firearms into the Federal Republic of Germany). Right side of the forward trigger guard web is marked with Belgian commercial proofs, which are also present on the right side of the bbl. Metal components exhibit a high polish blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features an external extractor, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching via the full S#, which is present in the "stacked" fashion on the right side of the frame slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 13-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a page of notes from Charles Wagner, indicating the history of this variation, as well as that very few High Power pistols are seen with the "Akah" marking. CONDITION: exceptional, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish overall, exhibiting a few superficial marks from handling and storage overall, as well as a few pinprick spots of light surface oxidation on the grip straps. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. An exceptional example of an "Akah" marked High Power, that one would find extremely difficult to upgrade from. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-284/MLW). CURIO. $1,750-2,250.
