FINNISH MARKED STOCK. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 6292n. Bbl. 4 3/4". M/08 Luger originally mfg. by DWM as a standard Model 1920 Commercial Luger. A number of these Model 1920 Lugers were arsenal reworked to 9x19mm in Finland, and given the designation "M/08", with Lugers remaining in 7.65x21mm being designation as the "M/23". This example is marked with a Crown/N German commercial nitro proof, followed by a boxed Finnish "SA" on the left side of the bbl. extension. Forward toggle link is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Top of the Finnish 9x19mm replacement bbl. is marked with the Tikkakoski arsenal insignia. Underside of the right frame rail is import marked "TG KNOX TN 9MM P08 GERMANY". Most metal components exhibit a Finnish arsenal reapplied dull blue finish, with some small parts being strawed or nitre blued. Bbl. exhibits a standard blue finish. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, bbl. extension (full S# on underside of lug), and rear toggle link, with remaining components being unnumbered. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag., with unmarked wood plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood flatboard shoulder stock, marked with a Finnish boxed "SA" proof, followed by a poorly arsenal stamped "2338" on the top of the lug. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their blue finishes, showing spots of light edge wear and scattered superficial handling marks showing through to silvering overall. Trigger retains scant traces of its straw finish, showing a mostly in-the-white appearance. Mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be a few machining marks towards the center of the bbl., while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show heavy smoothing, with some scattered marks from handling and storage. Mag. plug show chipping along the "ears". Flatboard stock shows darkening, as well as scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with hardware showing light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. (25-3486/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
