Cal. 9mmP. S# 101460. The FN High Power was an extremely popular pistol that was adopted by many militaries around the world. Many insisted on having their pistols marked with the national crest, as true for the Syrian contract guns. This fixed sight example, made in approximately 1962 based on the later form slide without thumbprint but still with internal extractor and ring hammer, has a bold and readily identifiable crest on top of the slide; just forward of the rear sight. Other than the crest, the pistol presents and is marked as a standard production gun, the left side of the slide having a 3-line address and the usual proofing appearing on the left side of the slide, left side of the frame, and over the exposed chamber. Full stacked matching serial numbers on the barrel, slide and frame. Fitted with black plastic checkered/bordered grips without provision for lanyard ring. Correct magazine with aluminum follower, phosphate body, and black painted floorplate. No import markings! CONDITION: good to very good original finish with uniform wear, spotting, and discoloration as commonly seen with these heavily used pistols. Comparable condition grips. Magazine much nicer, excellent; likely from a different pistol. Dull bore with easily discernable rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Your opportunity to acquire one of the scarcer, military contract High Power pistols, especially nice in that there are no import markings! PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-1626/LA). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
