MODEL 1934 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 616093. Bbl. 3 3/8". One of only an estimated 8,000 Model 1934 semi-automatic pistols mfg. by Mauser, procured by the German army between 1940 and 1941. Left side of the slide is marked with the S# within a milled panel, followed by Mauser's mfg. information, with "Cal. 7.65 D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the right. Sideplate is marked with the Mauser banner logo, with the left side of the receiver exhibiting a Mauser Eagle/655 acceptance proof above an eagle firing proof, indicating Army acceptance. Eagle/N commercial nitro proof on the top rear of the slide appears to have been incorrectly stamped or defaced at one time. Metal components exhibit a proper high police salt blue finish overall, with the frame being mounted with a 1-piece crosshatched wood wrap around grip. All numbers are matching and include the frame, sideplate, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 2 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster marked "ROBERT LARSEN/ BERUN/ SW68/ 1939" above an eagle holding a party insignia. Interior of the closure flap exhibits a faint handwritten name, appearing to read "Lt. Henderson". CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to a pleasing gray patina, with some scattered superficial marks overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting what appears to be a couple of small spots of light to mild pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grip is very good, showing some smoothing, minor impressions, and a few scattered marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting age-related cracking and crazing overall. A nice example of a rare German army-accepted Mauser Model 1934 pistol. (24-1077/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,400.
