LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 1188o. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser for the German military in 1941. The top of the bbl. extension is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg. "41" over the top of the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/655 proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "42" mfg. code. Left side of the frame is marked "P.08". Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. Grips are unnumbered, but are marked with a Mauser Eagle/655 proof on the interior of the panels. MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd. mag. marked with an Eagle/37 proof and "122". Aluminum mag. bottom has been renumbered at one time to match. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation pitting overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some mild smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
