Cal. 6.5 Carcano. S# 37. Bbl. 24". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching numbers on bbl. & left side of butt. Front band is numbered "49". Pre-WW2 Italian prototype gas piston semi auto rifle with about 250 units made. The rifles were used in Italian trials but never formally adopted. The rifle uses standard Carcano en-bloc clips. Bbl. has Terni arsenal markings with 1933 date in both standard & Roman numerals. Receiver ring marked "SCOTTI Mod. X". Left side of receiver marked "Armi Atatiche Scotti-Brescia". Blued finish. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Handguard has a different color than stock & maybe a later replacement. MAGS: 3-6 rd. en-bloc Carcano clips. CONDITION: stock set has an armory type finish with a tiny chip forming behind trigger guard, scattered dings, scratches & handling marks. Metal retains strong arsenal blue finish with overall oxidation more heavy on the mag body, some edge wear, handling marks & areas turning to a gray patina most notably rear sight assembly. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Good bore with scattered dried grease & light oxidation but good rifling. (25-3924/MJC). CURIO. $9000-14000.
