Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 15653 (1914). The 32" half round half octagon barrel fitted with slightly raised ventilated rib is engraved with maker's name and address on top right flat and importer "Abercrombie & Fitch" on left. Bottom of barrel is stamped with London nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chamber. Case hardened boxlock action is nicely filed and features blocked out safety and bushed striker. Action is engraved with full coverage very nicely cut rose and scroll. Maker's name is on both sides of action. Blued top lever and trigger guard are also scroll engraved. S# is on trigger guard tang. Attractively marbled and lightly fiddle figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over black Jenkins trap pad. Stock features drop points, point pattern grip checkering and a gold oval on toeline engraved "R.Lettick". Matching large beavertail ejector forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: .729. Restriction: .029 (IMod). Wall thickness: .055. STOCK: DAH: 2". DAC: 1-7/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 8 oz. CONDITION: very fine as partially refinished. Barrel with nearly all well done re-black. Action retains nearly all of what appears to be its original case hardening color. Most bright blue remains on top lever and trigger guard. Buttstock appears to be refinished with some loss of detail; a fair scattering of marks are present. Checkering shows light wear. Forend does not appear to have been refinished. Bore is bright and shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically good. (25-216/MGM). CURIO. $1,750-2,500.
