SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 7.5 Swiss Cadet. S# 6778. All visible numbers match. Bbl. 23 1/4". Import marked on left side of receiver. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1200 meters. Inverted V front sight. Approx. 7,900 of these reduced sized rifles were mfg. between 1898-1927. They were used w/ a reduced loading for target use which had the advantage of lessened recoil. Receiver is marked on top w/ Swiss Cross & intertwined “VP” Bern proof. This light weight & elegant rifle uses the Model 1911 style action configured as a single shot. Stacking bar & bayonet lug are present. Bottom swivels. Trigger guard made w/ finger rests. European walnut stock set w/ Swiss acceptance marks on right side of butt. Buttplate has remains of white painted rack number. Brown leather sling w/ faint Swiss markings. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: has reprinted pages from Swiss language weapons manual which mentions this rifle. Brass & steel muzzle cover. CONDITION: stock set has added finish over original w/ very light wear & scattered handling marks. Metal retains 95% original blue w/ light high point wear. Near excellent shiny bore. (23-485/RW).
