WITHOUT A SAFETY. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-5/8". S# 103565. This scarce gun is not listed in Parker Identification book but has 30" Titanic steel barrels with slightly raised matted rib. Barrel flats have all correct markings and frames size "2" is stamped on rear lump. Case hardened action without safety is fitted with double triggers. Action is engraved in usual "D" style with 70% coverage scroll surrounding dog scenes on sides with pointing pointer on left and pointing setter on right. "PARKER BROS" is on ribbon behind each scene. Trigger plate is engraved with usual four pheasant. S# is on trigger guard tang. Straight grip buttstock of somewhat figured American walnut measures 14-3/8" over skeleton steel buttplate. Stock features usual lozenge drop points, multi-point pattern checkering and vacant silver oval. Matching splinter forend is near fully checkered. Patent date is engraved on Parker release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .729. R .729. Restriction: L .038 (extra full). R .038 (extra full). Wall thickness: L .027. R .030. STOCK: DAH: 2-3/16". DAC: 1-7/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-3/8". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 12 oz. CONDITION: good "as found". Barrels retaining traces of original blue and present an overall salt and pepper appearance. Action shows cleaning to peppery silver gray. Engraving remains good. Screws show some use. Stocks retain most of their original finish with a good number of marks and light scratches. Checkering is moderately worn. Bores are bright and shiny throughout without any noted problems. Action is tight. Mechanically good. (25-4456/MGM). CURIO. $3,000-4,000.
