DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 32 Colt. S# 643126. Bbl. 6".One of only approximately 800-1,500 Officers Model Heavy Barrel revolvers chambered in .32 Colt mfg. by Colt between 1939-1941. This example, mfg. in 1940, is marked with the model and cal. designations on the left side of the bbl. above "(MALTESE CROSS) HEAVY BARREL (MALTESE CROSS)," with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo as well as Colt's "VP" proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Patridge front sight, with adj. square notch rear sight. Checkered backstrap and trigger. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. crane. Grips are unnumbered. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and finish loss (primarily on the sides of the bbl. and cyl.), which show through to gray and brown patinas, with scattered areas of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
