KNIFE 9.5” overall, 5.25” blade, 2” top edge sharpened, .25” thick, maker mark is struck in 2 lines parallel to brass crossguard on ricasso: “RANDALL MADE / SOLINGEN-GERMANY” These die struck maker marked knives are thought to have been the earliest of the Solingen import blades, later knives were acid etched with maker's mark longitudinal on the blade. Because of the high demand for military fighting knives in Vietnam, Bo Randall ordered an unknown quantity of German blades, ground, polished, and mounted them. This took the wait time down from a year to only a couple months. This is a fine survivor, well-marked that saw light to moderate use. Early screwed green tenite finger grooved grip, heavy thick long tang with lanyard hole at pommel. Complete with its matching Randall military sheath with early steel riveted construction with brass reinforcing rivets on either side of throat, rawhide tie down thongs. CONDITION: very good overall, knife has seen some use, with sharpening, re-polishing, staining. Grip, heavy brass cross guard, and sheath are very good. (02-22719/JS). $4,000 - 6,000
