MUSKET. Cal. 70. NSN. Bbl. 44" marked at breech “CPNA” oval cartouche w/ liberty cap over “P”. 59 1/2" Overall. George Moller in his text states that this state cartouche dates delivery 1797-1801. Lock is marked at tail, stamped vertically “MILES / CP". "50 . REGT No. 270” stamped on right side of butt stock & lg. "WS" on left. Inspectors cartouche w/ 2 indiscernible script initials over “V”. CONDITION: very good overall. Appears original & matching other than added ramrod & lock screws. Cock has welded repaired shank holding top jaw w/ added top jaw screw. Stock is sound w/ chipping rear of lock. 2 Cracks between lock & trigger guard. Mechanically fine w/ clear dark bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19297/JS).
