Cal. 44. S# 14312. This rarely seen 6th variation Henry rifle was the result of the factory cleaning up the remaining Henry barrels and receivers and making up a few final rifles for sale to the public. Serial numbers of documented Henrys with round top frames like the 1866 Winchesters being made in same serial range run approximately 14183-14362, with 17 survivors in database. This model is identical to the late 5th model with the exception that the top portion of the receiver in front of the ejection port is machined round and rear of ejection port has rounded bevels instead of 3 flat surfaces as found on all previous Henry rifles. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: old dealer tags: "sold Tulsa 4-1-2007, $37,000". CONDITION: very good overall, appears all original and authentic. Matching S# 14312 found on barrel behind rear sight dovetail, left side of lower receiver tang, top receiver tang channel in butt stock, and inside bottom edge of butt plate. Barrel has mottled plum patina with thin original blue especially in gullet. Brass has toned patina. Stock is sound and well fit, small crack at toe, sling swivels mounted on left side. Markings excellent. Mechanics fine, crisp rifled bore. (01-26795/JS). ANTIQUE. $10,000-15,000.
