Cal. 222 Rem. S# 187-31460. Bbl. 18 1/2" with banded serrated blade on ramped base. Receiver factory machined for Ruger scope rings; fitted with simple factory dovetailed peep sight. Mfg. 1985 as Mini-14/5R .222 with noted references stating S#187-257XX to 187-31395. Non standard caliber created for export sales; past references have stated France or Australia as both countries do not allow citizens to have firearms chambered for military calibers. Sales to US resulted in a cancellation of an export contract; even rarer model offered in stainless. Early rifle style stock with serrated black Celcon buttplate; later models had standard carbine style buttplates; design change was done because the walnut stained birch stocks were prone to cracking at toe if handled roughly which was not an issue with the carbine stocks. Factory black fiberglass ventilated handguard. MAGS: 1 factory 5 rd. (uses same mag. as 223 Rem. models). CONDITION: spot of finish loss at left rear of front sight band; all other aspects near excellent including bore. (23-6315/NW). MODERN. $1,000-1,500.
