REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Spl. S# 53858. Bbl. 6 1/2" pinned. White Sheard bead front sight. Adjustable rear sight. Matching numbers on grip frame, bbl., cyl. & extractor. Rare S&W 1926 Third Model Target DA revolver with less than 200 being made. Professional reblue finish with case colored trigger & hammer. Checkered walnut grips with mismatched right panel, diamond center & silver S&W medallions. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: later S&W blue box & factory letter. Letter confirms most of the revolvers configuration & states the front sight was a Sheard gold bead front sight. The letter states this revolver was one of ten shipped to Armeria Quintna in Mexico in December, 1937. CONDITION: grips show some scattered handling marks & dings. Hammer & trigger show overall fading to gray with strong traces of case colors. Balance of metal retains 90% professional reblue with grip frame showing large areas of cleaned pitting, some edge wear & blued over pitting mostly on cyl. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
