REQUEST OF THE U.S. POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT WITH LETTER, ORIGINAL BOX & 1967 POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT METHODS HANDBOOK FOR THE USE AND CARE OF REVOLVERS. Cal. 22 LR. S# C429847. Bbl. pinned 4" tapered w/ serrated ramp front sight & square notch rear sight (the only K frame produced in 22 LR w/ out target sights other than special orders). Case colored checkered semi-target hammer & serrated trigger. Blued 4 screw square butt K service frame. Checkered diamond escutcheon S& W magna grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original box & Roy Jinks S& W letter indicating this revolver shipped Aug. 1962 to Charles Greenblatt Inc, New York, NY w/ 4" bbl., blued finish & checkered walnut grips. Letter further indicates that this was 1 of 1,500 that were produced as overruns to the government order & were sent to S& W distributors. Also includes Post Office 1967 manual. CONDITION: all aspects appears like new w/ a very faint dragline. Vivid case colored parts. Very fine grips w/ only a few minor handling marks. Bright bore w/ sharp rifling. Appears unfired.
