SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 8756. Bbl. 4". Standard configuration P.08 Luger mfg. by Simson during the Weimar era. The bbl. extension is marked with Simson Eagle/6 and Eagle/33 proofs on the right, with Eagle/6 proofs marked on most small parts. Toggle is marked "SIMSON & Co./ SUHL". Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Nearly all serialized parts are matching, save for the bbl. (#146), firing pin (#37), as well as the grips, which are of WWII production. MAGS: 1 WWI 8-rd. mag., non-matching Erfurt proofed wood plug. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting few spots of light wear, with scattered spots/areas of light to mild pitting present beneath the finish overall. Strawed parts show areas of wear, as well as striations from prior cleaning. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show smoothing, scattered handling marks, a few small chips, as well as a few notable impressions, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-3489/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
