BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 6.5x55 Swede. S# 587. Bbl. 24". Blade front sight with hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2200m. Matching numbers on receiver & bolt handle. Stock is numbered "568" & marked "WaA84" on right side ahead of mag door. Other visible numbers are mismatched or unnumbered. 1944 dated Norwegian Krag made under German occupation & designated the Karabiner 414(n). These rifles were made in small numbers using new & recycled parts. They fall in the A, B & C serial ranges for a total of about 30,000 rifles made. Receiver & bolt handle both "WaA84" German inspection stamps. Kongsberg arsenal black oxide finish. Walnut pistol grip stock with bottom mounted sling hardware. Cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: green canvas sling & "WaA84" marked bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: stock set shows a small crack at left side of forend tip, a couple small handguard cracks, a couple abrasions, scattered dings, scratches & some handling marks. Metal retains 85% Kongsberg arsenal black oxide finish with some light dings on bbl., scattered edge wear, fading & light oxidation. Safety requires cocking piece to be pulled to rear by hand for proper function. Action otherwise cycles properly when hand operated. Worn bore with scattered oxidation & pitting. (25-557/MJC).
