HELMET. This is one of the most desirable German helmets of the WWII era. It is commonly called a Normandy camouflage helmet and was produced by the firm of F.W. Quist in Esslingen, Germany, late in 1941. The exterior of the helmet has blended 3-color camouflage paint specially designed for the defenses around the Normandy coast. The interior left of the helmet is stamped "Q64" and the interior rear is stamped "DN134". The 8-tongue liner is light brown leather and the chinstrap is dark brown. There is an inked name on the liner that appears to read "O.V. LK mo__m". CONDITION: the camouflage finish of the helmet is better than 90%. The liner and chinstrap show wear but remain quite solid. (02-22799-1/BF). $2,500-3,500.
