REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 353149. Bbl 5 3/8". Single Action Army revolver manufactured by Colt in 1928. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 38 SPECIAL, with "COLT'S MFG CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A." stamped across the right. Left side of frame bears patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a reapplied dark blued finish overall, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece contemporary aftermarket Colt gold medallion smooth wood grips. Barrel and cylinder are of later production. Butt has been mounted with a lanyard swivel. Matching numbers are present on the frame, as well as on the right side of the grip straps. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their reapplied blue finish exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good overall. (23-2327/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,100.
