ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 S,L,LR. S# 113850. Bbl. 24" tapered octagon. Original standard sporting sights. Tubular mag. Action has full coverage of F grade hand engraving. Right side vignette features a woodland scene w/ a squirrel. Left side woodland scene features 2 jack rabbits. Scenes are surrounded by arabesque scroll w/ straight line & ornate borders. Complimenting engraving extends to upper & lower receiver areas along w/ breech end of bbl. & mag. tube bands. Forearm & round knob pistol grip stock of fancy thinshell walnut w/ F grade hand checkering & crescent steel buttplate. Toeline of stock has oval presentation plate w/ initials "GWA". Mfg. 1912. CONDITION: 70% blue w/ some fading to brown showing slide & carry wear w/ spots of corrosion. Buttplate blue has faded to brown. Refinished wood shows scattered scratches & marks. Left side of wrist has a crack extending from the tang into the checkering. Bore is lightly pitted w/ worn rifling. PROVENANCE: The estate collection of Don "Duck" Combs. (24-2417/DS).
