REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 4100. Bbl. 8" oct. w/ replacement cone style front sight. 6 Shot rnd. cyl. Blue finish w/ brass trigger guard. Major parts have "J" or" S" inspector's initials. 2 Piece walnut grips w/ partially visible cartouche on left panel. Estimated quantity of 6,000 mfg. in 1862. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a brown patina showing scattered pitting & surface corrosion. Cyl. pin is replacement. Grips have dark, aged worn appearance w/ handling marks & deep dents at butt. Action is worn & out of time. Bore is generally bright, retaining very good rifling.
