Cal. 50 CF. S# 337 (4 digits appear present, but 1 is unrecognizable). Mfg. 1870's as possible continuation of Remington 1865 Navy Pistol contract. Round 7" barrel; top of barrel has blade front sight & "I / J.M.B.C./ anchor" proofs. Case colored receiver with double stamped Remington patent dates on left side & "P / F.C.W." on right side. Walnut stock set with "FCW" cartouche on left side of grip. CONDITION: fair barrel blue with marks, wear & spots of varnish. Gray/brown receiver showing little case colors with spots of oxidation & patina. Fair worn finish on wood with lightly discernable cartouche. Shiny bore with strong rifling & spots of light pitting.
