PISTOL. Cal. 50 CF. NSN. Bbl. 7" round with semi circular front sight. Top of barrel at breech end is marked "I / W.D. W" / (Navy anchor) / I". Right side of frame has military inspectors marking "P / F.C.W". Left side of action is marked "REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y. U.S.A. / PAT. MAY 3d NOVEMBER 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1866". All are believed to be converted from Model 1865's. Walnut forearm and grip. CONDITION: barrel has faded to a mottled gray showing scattered light pitting. Action retains a small amount of visible case colors blending with gray and a spot of corrosion. Forearm has an age darkened lightly worn appearance. Stock is sanded and refinished with full length piece of added wood on left side. Pitted bore retains largely intact rifling. (01-21481/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
