Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 42". Blade front sight. Long range adjustable rear sight. Remington 1822 musket updated with Maynard priming system. Lock has 1856 date & Remington markings at rear. Tang has 1856 date, "Y98" & "J.T." markings. Walnut stock with three bands. Button tipped ramrod. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: US 1835/40 socket bayonet. CONDITION: stock appears lightly sanded with added finish, a small crack on left side near bolt, scattered dings & handling wear from the years. Lock & buttplate are mostly a dull gray patina with scattered pitting & oxidation. Other metal parts are a light gray color with some notable pitting at rear of bbl, scattered lighter pitting & oxidation. Action goes to full cock & functions when hand cycled. Bore shows scattered pitting but good rifling. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (01-28428/MJC). ANTIQUE. $800-1200.
