Cal. 50 RF. S# 6332. Bbl. 7" with barely corn blade plus notch in top of rolling block. Mfg. 1870-1875 (approx. 6,400 units) by modifying Model 1865's to incorporate a trigger guard, eliminating the earlier spur trigger. Serial number correctly on bottom of barrel in front of forend plus on right side of each tang. Underside of barrel near action has "FWC" plus top rear with "1 / J.M.B.C." / anchor symbol. Inside of forend has distinct "4" and appearance of "2" before it. Right side of frame has "P / F.C.W."; normal Remington markings on left with last patent date of 1866. No marks on inside of grip nor a cartouche on its exterior. CONDITION: very good as an antique having hand wear, numerous marks, and extra grip finish. Forend hand worn to point of noticeable reduction between attachment screw and action. Cleaned bore with wear and pitting; very good cleaned chamber area. Hammer does not release when trigger is pulled, but freely moves with light forward nudge. Appears to be original metal finish with all markings noticeably clear; only barrel serial number a bit faint. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Curtis H. Halvorson. (01-24560/NW). ANTIQUE. $500-750.
