Cal. 44 CFW (44-40). NSN. Bbl. shortened to 5 3/4" with reattached blade sight. 1890 style ejector housing lacking the distinctive web of the Model 1875. 6-shot fluted cyl. Left side of frame has caliber marking "44.C.F.W.". Assembly # "255" is found on the inside of the grip frame. Nickel finish with lanyard ring at butt. 2-piece checkered hard rubber grips with "RA" motifs at top. Total of 2,020 mfg. 1891-1896. CONDITION: bbl. retains 70% nickel with areas of finish loss and light pitting. Frame and cyl. retain 30% nickel blending with areas of finish loss and pitting. Grips have worn checkered with handling marks. Right panel is chipped at the toe and butt. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore retains strong rifling.
