Cal. 22 Short. NSN. Bbl 10". Remington Rolling Block pistol converted from a Model 1867 Rolling Block Pistol, chambered in .22 Short. The left side of the frame is stamped "REMINGTONS ILION N.Y.". Metal components exhibit a lustrous blue finish, with the frame being mounted with a 1 piece checkered wood grip and ivory inlaid schnabel tip forend. Grip features a diamond escutcheon on either side that exhibits an engraved encircled "J", with the underside of the forend exhibiting a small shield escutcheon engraved "1928". 2 stage barrel with a silver band at the breech, featuring a stippled blade front sight and frame mounted adjustable square notch rear sight. Grip straps and rear of breechblock feature stippling. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their period blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear, a couple small scattered spots of mild pitting, as well as some superficial marks from handling. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows some scattered mild superficial marks form handling and storage, but is otherwise very good overall.
