STYLE ENGRAVING. Cal. 12 GA, 2 3/4". S# 81879. Bbl. 26" solid rib with early style band at breech end. White target front sight. Aftermarket Briley Light Mod. steel shot choke tube measuring 2 3/4" in length. Action has unsigned F grade engraving in the style of factory engraver Robert P. Runge. Foliate scroll engraving has gold plated figures. Right side depicts 5 mallards and a woodcock. Left side shows 2 partridge, 2 pointing hunting dogs, and a flying woodcock. Trigger guard bow features a head of a setter. Breech end of bbl. has complimentary engraving that partially covers the patent markings on the left side. Walnut forearm and straight grip stock with F grade hand checkering. Toeline of stock has brass oval escutcheon with initials that appear to be "L R". LOP: 14 5/16" over a Hawkins red ventilated pad. CONDITION: gun retains over 95% reblued metal finish showing slide wear. Very good stock finish showing a few small marks. Sound action. Very good bright bore. (25-4961/DS). CURIO. $3,500-5,000.
