TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 06370. Bbl. 28". Model 37 Rangemaster bolt action target rifle mfg. by Remington in 1947. Top of the bbl. is marked with Remington's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by the model designation, with the Remington trademark logo and the cal. designation marked on the left. Right side of the bbl. is marked with an "SS" (1947) date code. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white, and the safety lever, which is case colored. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip target stock features a flat checkered steel buttplate and a 3 1/4" hand stop rail. Toeline of stock and hand stop rail are fitted with sling swivels. Redfield post globe front sight. Rear of bbl. is fitted with x2 case colored sight blocks, with an additional sight block mounted on the left side of the receiver. Trigger is fitted with a grooved trigger shoe. Bolt matches the receiver via "6370" on the underside of the body. Mag. has been replaced with a single shot block. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, some superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows scattered marks and small impressions from handling and storage, with finish wear present on the left side of the butt. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret.
