Cal. 22 RF. S# J243079. Bbl. 22 1/2". No. 4 Rolling Block takedown rifle mfg. by Remington from 1890-1933. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Remington's single line address. Bottom flat is marked with the S#, followed by "22", with "D4" marked towards the breech. Receiver exhibits a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with steel carbine buttplate. Underside of stock wrist is stamped "H". Dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver retains good amounts of its original case colored finish, exhibiting general overall wear and darkening, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Blued parts retain the majority of their original finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, some superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Bore exhibits a consistent scattering of light to mild pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a gouge present on the left side of the buttstock. (26-2154/MLW). CURIO. $350-600.
