RIFLE. Cal. 30 Rem. S# 19149. Bbl. 22" that codes Jan. 1942. Police style w/ Lyman 41 receiver sight & Remington info moved to stacked area at mid point of receiver. Matching numbered 149 bbl. assembly w/ proper Police style Patridge profile front sight blade. Early variation w/out extended detachable mag. nor w/ shroud cuts for induction brazing to bbl. Forend screw attached rather than w/ swivel; no swivels. Plain pistol grip walnut stock set w/ Remington checkered steel buttplate. Left side of trigger guard stamped "X2" at front & "50" at rear. Numerous inspector marks in front of mag. box. Very popular w/ early police departments due to its power, ease of handling & rugged dependability plus ability to speed load w/ stripper clips.
