Cal. 45 ACP. S# 4858 (1918). Per "U.S. Automatic Pistols 1894-1920" by Edward Scott Meadows, originally shipped Nov. 7, 1918 to the Ordnance Department. Correct features include: Type C safety lock tab, Type A slide lock, Type 2 mainspring housing pin, Type C mag. release lock, Type 3 recoil spring plug, Type B recoil spring guide, & Type A front sight. Other features include: WWII field replacement Springfield Armory 5" Type 14 barrel marked "PX-4", Type C hammer, replacement parkerized Type 1 mainspring housing, short 1911A1 trigger, replacement Type C front sight & replacement double diamond checkered walnut grips. "E.E.C." & Springfield Armory Eagle's head "E26" stamped on frame "E" stamp on left side of frame & back of slide. MAGS: 3 WWII 7 rd.; 1 very good unmarked Colt, 1 fair unmarked Colt & 1 good M.S. Little. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: white Model 1910 3rd variation belt with Rock Island Arsenal 1941 dated khaki double mag. pouch. Boyt 1942 dated Russett Model 1916 holster with leather cord. Type 1 Lanyard. Items overall in good intact condition with holes in double mag pouch showing wear & verdigris. CONDITION: this pistol has a fair overall cleaned appearance showing a noticeable buffing area on left side of slide, prior pitting, gray patina & handling marks. Recoil spring shows slight bend. Good grips. Frame has traces of original blue mixed with patina & wear. Very good replacement grips. Barrel has parkerized finish with fair bore showing fouling & pitting. (24-1459/MD).
