BROWNING HIGH POWER BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH CASE. Cal. 7mm Rem. Mag. S# 54510L69. The 24" medium weight round barrel has all correct factory markings along with "MADE IN BELGIUM". Barrel is not drilled for sights and areas at breech end are acanthus scroll engraved. Standard length FN action with short extractor has French gray finish and is mounted with gray finish Redfield scope base and blued rings with scroll engraving. Receiver ring is engraved with scene of moose on left side and elk on right. These scenes are both signed "R. DeWil". Side wall and bridge are scroll engraved. Bottom metal with hinged floorplate is also scroll engraved and this scroll surrounds a standing grizzly bear on floorplate and snarling head of a mountain lion on trigger guard bow. Both of these scenes are signed "A. Bee". Pistol grip stock of figured Claro walnut measures 13-3/4" over open sided Browning pad and features swept right hand cheek piece with Monte Carlo comb, reinforcing bolts, sling studs, rosewood grip cap with gold diamond on bottom and forend tip both with white line spacers. Closely spaced checkering is of fancy pattern and is accented by hand carved acanthus scroll and stippling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: rifle is housed in it's original Browning Hartmann case which contains empty black envelope. CONDITION: very fine. Barrel and action retaining nearly all original factory finishes. There is some minor checking in varnish of stock, along with a few scattered handling marks. There is evidence of salt damage on recoil bolts and barrel mounting screw. The consignor states that he has spoken to a repair team about the salt issue, it can be rectified for a nominal cost. Wood shows deterioration from salt around front recoil bolt on right side. Bore is bright and shiny. Mechanically good. Case is very fine. (24-2221/MGM). CURIO. $7,000-10,000.
