Cal. 58. NSN. Bbl. 39". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1000yds. Reproduction 1853 Enfield musket that appears to be "Defarbed" with no modern markings. Blued bbl. and bands. Case-colored lock and hammer with "TOWER 1862" and crown markings. Brass trigger guard and buttplate. Hardwood stock with bottom-mounted sling swivels and Birmingham trade cartouche on right side of butt. Iron ramrod is present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: repro "CS" cartridge box and pouch with tools. CONDITION: stock has added varnish with scattered light flaking and handling marks. Brass parts are a light yellow color with scattered oxidation. Lock assembly retains nearly all its case-colored finish with some light oxidation. Blued parts retain 85-90% finish with scattered light oxidation. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bore is dark with scattered oxidation but appears to have strong rifling. (01-25566/MJC). ANTIQUE. $500-800.
