SHOULDER STOCK & CANVAS CARRIER. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1154. Bbl. 5 1/2". In the late 1980s a small quantity of Shansei C96 pistols were reproduced and imported from China. Quantity cited as fewer than 2,000 pistols, form and markings were as per the original guns. This mid-production example has a 5.5" bbl. with a fixed front sight and slip-in rear sight graduated from 100-1000. Short extractor, single lug firing pin, small ring hammer. Full S# on left chamber flat that is repeated on top of the bolt, rear of hammer, and top of backstrap. Chinese markings on left rear panel refer to the type of pistol. Markings on right side of frame reference location and year of production. Import markings discreetly applied to front strap. Fitted with serrated wood grips that are similar in pattern to the original Shansei Broomhandle. No lanyard ring. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: complete with oversized shoulder stock having an extended neck along with accompanying khaki canvas carrier / green shoulder strap. CONDITION: pistol retains nearly 98-99% of its original salt blue finish, 2 patches of losses on the left side of the bbl. extension as carefully imaged. Bolt, hammer, and sub-frame in-the-white with minimal oxidative changes. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics as concerns firing, though safety lever does not engage. Shoulder stock and canvas carrier nearly new with only a few small handling marks. An impressive modern day Shansei pistol with stock, fractionally valued compared to an original. (25-3495/LMA). MODERN. $3,000-4,500.
