Cal. 75. NSN. Standard configuration, original flint configuration, 58" overall, 42" military proofed & broad arrow inspected barrel, brass furniture, 2nd ramrod pipe has tapered Pratt improvement, dating musket after 1778, GR cyphered Tower lock has broad arrow inspection, unsupported serpentine cock, early high comb stock, beavertail molding around barrel tang, moderate palm swell in forestock. No unit markings. CONDITION: very good overall, appears complete & original, replaced correct style sling swivels, barrel & lock have mottled iron patina, stock lightly refinished, stamps in wood are visible but not readable, crack repair between 2 rear pipes, ramrod is original with crack near tip. Lock cocks but hangs on half cock sometimes, dark clear pitted smooth bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of John "Jack" Dhooghe. (01-28276/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
