FOWLER. Cal. 80. NSN. Bbl. 54 1/4" oct. to rnd. 70" overall. This gun is pictured on pg. 194 of Tom Grinslade’s, Flintlock Fowlers: The First Guns Made in America. Bbl. w/ Continental proofs at breech, brass mounted. Early circa 1750 English lock signed “IOHNSON”, 1st model style sideplate. Stock is coarsely checkered & has been stretched from just 2 1/5" forward of ramrod thimble. CONDITION: very good overall, as forestock & ramrod pipes restored. Front restored ramrod pipe is loose, unsoldered. Mechanically fine w/ clear, dark bore. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19293/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
