PISTOL INSCRIBED TO JOHN GILES 13TH REGIMENT, 8TH ALBANY MILITIA. Cal. 56. NSN. Bbl. 8" tapered rnd., has no discernible marks. Lock w/ rounded plate has rnd. bodied serpentine cock, inset pan, bridled friction frizzen & feather spring w/ foliate finial. Walnut stock extends to muzzle & is pinned to bbl. No provision for ramrod. Brass mounts include ovate inlay to bottom of flared grip, trigger guard & nicely shaped sideplates. Bottom of stock in front of trigger guard is scratch carved “IOHN GILES 13t”, “REGt NY AL (?)”, “BANY 8 MIL”. CONDITION: fair to good, iron parts gray/brown patina. Stock w/ old oil finish. Brass cleaned. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19256/MGM). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
