Cal. 303 Brit. S# 7473. Bbl. 20 1/2" with extension. Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000yds that is a bit bent.. Matching numbers on bbl., receiver & bolt. Bolt appears to be over stamped matching in a period font. Left side of socket has 1898 date with Enfield, crown & "LEC I" markings. Top of bbl. marked "E". Left side of receiver & bbl. have varied British proofs including crown "BNP" & British sale proofs. No mag chain or hand guard present. Dust cover is present. Blued finish. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Right side of stock has faint 1902 dated Birmingham roundel over "I". Stock disc marked "3.04" & "R.I.C" 1330" denoting use by the Royal Irish Constabulary. MAGS: 1-5 rd. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows a couple armorer type spliced repairs on forend, scattered handling marks & scratches. Metal retains 60% arsenal blue with scattered fading to gray, edge wear & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good + bright bore. (01-27370/MJC). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
