REMINGTON BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 347739. Bbl. 26". Rifle marked on receiver ring & right side of buttstock w/ encircled arrow markings indicating use in WWII by the Royal Canadian Airforce. Rifle originally had red painted stripe below upper band, traces of which show in joint between forend & handguard. Rifle markings have been enhanced in white. Bbl. marked behind front sight "R" flaming bomb "7-18". Ladder aperture rear sight marked "R". Blade front sight w/ protective ears marked "R". Receiver marked on left rail w/ flaming bomb & marked on top of left rail w/ eagle acceptance marks. Bolt handle marked underneath "R" & on top w/ flaming bomb. Cocking piece marked "W". Matching walnut stock set marked "R" at forend tip. Forend marked star "D 8" behind lower band at bottom. Marked underneath grip w/ eagle acceptance mark. Has worn stained Kerr NOBUCKL sling. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish w/ light wear & scattered handling marks. Red stripe has been removed. Metal has 50% original blue turning gray w/ wear & scattered scratches. Mag. follower has been altered to allow bolt to close after last shot. Very good shiny bore. (20-3390/RW). CURIO. $500-900.
