1876 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-75. S# 44121. Bbl. 22" rnd. with fixed front sight and proper graduated leaf rear sight. Tubular mag. Original finish was blue with case colored hammer and lever. Band fastened full length forearm and straight grip stock of nicely grained walnut with steel carbine buttplate. Left side of stock has banner marked "N.W.M.P." over identification # "40". Toeline of stock is stamped "LOF.157". 1,611 mfg. by Winchester for the NWMP between 1878-1885. Mfg. in 1884. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: the book "WINCHESTER'S NORTH WEST MOUNTED POLICE CARBINES" by Lewis E. Yearout. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a light even brown patina showing small handling marks. Wood has worn finish with scratches and marks having a small chip left of action. Sound mechanics. Bore is generally bright with sound rifling. (01-27800/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
