Cal. 44 Mag. S# 103-10923. Bbl. 18 1/2" with sights of brass bead front plus folding rear with white diamond. Mfg. 1983 (1961-1985) per noted RENE Reference Guide yet factory website states shipped 2003; likely from a Ruger benefit auction. In 1885 Ruger announced there would be 1,800 Anniversary units available at $495 with American walnut stocks and metal buttplates (error in announcement as Ruger used Celcon plastic buttplates for these, plus for all carbines starting in 1976). Factory Model number 01013 and catalog designation of YR25-44R. Approx. 5,000 Anniversary models produced per noted RENE Reference Guide as a result of cleaning up unsold inventory. Discontinuance was caused mainly by competition from noticeably less expensive Remington Model 742's aggressively marketed nationwide at large sporting goods outlets, etc. Anniversary markings on right side of barrel next to receiver plus "INC." and "warning marks" with its Southport address. Last variation with walnut stock having square cut at forend and pewter colored Anniversary disk on right side of buttstock. Cartridge release button at loading port plus steel cartridge guide in top front of receiver held by 2 rivets rather than screws which were often confused by consumers to be a scope base provision yet factory drilled and tapped at rear of barrel plus rear of receiver for scope mounting. In high demand as compact, fast handling brush hunting carbine that weighs less fully loaded (internal 4 rd. magazine) than the popular lever action carbine weighs empty. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: original 25th Anniversary marked box with packaging to include original manual (no red inked "out of production" marks) dated 4/82. CO. Outer shipping box addressed to FFL in CO. Original Ruger Packing Slip. CONDITION: excellent overall appearing new and unfired. (23-6448/NW). MODERN. $900-1,400.
